IP Blocking
What's IP blocking and what does it mean for website visitors? When is it helpful?
One of the most efficient methods to limit the access to your site is to block the IP addresses of the people which mustn't be able to open it. There are numerous good reasons to do this. As an illustration, you may want a specific person not to be able to see your website, or you may limit the access for a whole state. You may also block IP addresses if you notice that there are lots of web browser requests from them, if a huge number of spam comments are left within your Internet sites or if a script login page has been loaded many times. In all of these scenarios, the traffic is more than likely fake and has been produced by an automatic bot, so you can safely block any shady IP address, to be on the safe side. That way, you'll also prevent the prospect of your web server getting overloaded by many fake requests.

IP Blocking in Semi-dedicated Hosting
Our
semi-dedicated server accounts feature a rather simple-to-use IP blocking tool, which will enable you to restrict individual IPs or even whole networks from accessing your sites with onlya couple of clicks and you will not have any issues to achieve that even if that's your first hosting account. When you navigate to the IP Blocking section of the Hepsia CP, you will only need to choose the domain or subdomain in question from a drop-down list, then type in the IP address within a box that you'll see there and you will be all set. To restrict the access for a whole network, you must leave one or more octets blank. For example, if you type in 123.123. and don't input anything inside the third and fourth positions, our hosting server shall deny requests from all IP addresses between 123.123.1.1 and 123.123.255.255.
